A lean startup targeting expense tracking for the growing Freelancer work force. It focused on providing the key utility someone needs for end-of-year taxes and how to leverage them with smart investing.

Hi-Fi Frames

There were a handful of concept designs that had been created prior to starting on the project. Using these, hi-fidelity wireframes were created in order to get a overview of what the entire app User flow looked like. This approach was chosen to allow synchronous app development and user testing.

Iterative Discovery

Early in the process, a color set was chosen to expedite finished interfaces that we could test. Setting a style up-front allowed me to build refined visuals, while focusing on innovative user-flows.

Pocket Accountant

In order to be the Pocket Accountant for freelancers, we asked ourselves "What object represents accountants?"

A green visor is pretty tricky to get right, but after hundreds of variations, I came upon this tidy little mark.
